Information About Sending Your Firearm to Craftguard

"The Gun Control Act of 1968" allows the owner of a firearm to ship it to a Federal Firearm Licensee for firearm maintenance. The package must state "Adult Signature Required" on the shipping label.

What is the average turn-a-round time?  Disassembled firearms require approximately two weeks. Non-disassembled firearms require approximately four weeks.  Please take into account additional shipping time.

All firearms must be completely disassembled prior to having a metal finish applied.  A "disassembled firearm" is a weapon that has been completely dismantled. All pins, screws, wood, sights, plastic components, aluminum parts, springs, etc. have been removed from the firearm. Hexagonal or Octagonal barrels must be removed from the receiver. Round barrel removal usually isn't required unless the receiver or frame is made of an alloy.

Craftguard provides a disassembly and reassembly service for a fee.  However, you may want to consult with your local gun shop about having them send the firearm to Craftguard because they may be able to perform the disassembly and reassembly service allowing for a quicker turn-a-round time.

When sending a firearm to Craftguard, please be sure to enclose a completed "Work Order Form."  This ensures that we are provided with the proper contact information and metal finishing instructions.  Failure to complete a "Work Order Form" may result in a delay in the metal finishing service.

Payment is due upon the completion of a metal finishing service.  Craftguard accepts the following payments: Visa, Mastercard, Check, Money Order, Cash, and C.O.D.'s.  All credit card transactions are posted the day the firearm is shipped.  The customer may also request that Craftguard email an Invoice so they can directly make payment here on the website under "Pay Your Invoice."  The firearm will be returned upon verification of payment.
